Sometimes I wonder if I.. if I made the right choice..
[ he had felt such conviction in the moment, that offering himself to zodiark was the only way, the best thing he could possibly do for their people. compared with his peers, hythlodaeus is so very ordinary, with no power of any sort to wield in an attempt to forestall the final days. his life was the most valuable thing to have, and if half of them had to die in order for the rest to live.. why not him? what greater purpose could he possibly have served? he was not special. many more talented than he were sacrificed that day.
and yet without him, hades fractured, he became a monster comprised of twisted grief and pain and righteous fury, and if hythlodaeus had been there - perhaps.. perhaps things would have been..
